The show ‘Forest Creatures and Other Animals’ officially opens tomorrow, June 1st and continues through till June 30th.
We, aka Deer Little Forest, spent a busy Sunday last week, traveling up to London and hanging my work ready in time for the June exhibition. It was fab to meet the lovely Debbie (Craft Guerrilla) and Tim (Blackduke and Cashman) who made us feel welcome by making us the best cup of coffee and patiently letting us put random holes in their walls! Sorry guys, seriously tough walls! It all looked great in the end though and it’s such a wonderful space to hang work and we hope you all managed to pop by, take a look round and stop for a coffee and a chat.
The Deer Little Forest forges forth with this June’s Exhibition and makes big plans for a second Trade show this Autumn.
Who said it was going to be a relaxing Summer! We can’t help it, we just love being busy and with so many ideas skipping about the trees, it’s never been a better time for the Forest Folk to get busy with sketch pad and pen!
Have a fun filled Bank Holiday everyone.
Big Bear hugs all round! X
Deer Little Forest is loving a great little mix of fantastic illustrators, designers and makers this Friday.
Loving James Ward (Jimbobart) illustration, who I exhibited alongside during London Design week. I’m excited to be exhibiting alongside him at the Craft Guerrilla this June.
Best wall art created by James. What an amazing office to work in!
Isobel Kho’s cool illustrations caught my eye last year during a Wonder Hill market. It was Deer Little Forest’s first Wonder Hill Market and we immediately liked her work! Her work will also be shown at the Craft Guerrilla.
Our favourites from Pulse this year;
OMY– The coolest paper costumes for children. Deer Little Forest just loves them!
The loveliest Pulse exhibitor Lizzie Searle’s range of embroidered and appliqued items are so fresh and adorable and her stand really stood out at the Pulse show!
Loved finding the funky Garudio Studiage at Pulse. Their flat pack pets are perfect for urban dwelling we reckon!
So great to meet Alice Palace too! The friendliest Sisters in the greeting card industry. I love their beautifully, quirky British designs!
I’m traveling back up to London this Sunday with some newly framed, original ‘Deer Little Forest‘ artwork and I’m very excited to say I will be exhibiting alongside the very talented Jimbobart (who I exhibited with during London Design Festival last September)and Isobel Kho at the Craft Guerrilla this June!
The exhibition runs from June 1st to June 30th.
83 Grove Road, London, E17 9BU

It’s been a week of welcoming new stockists to our Deer Little Forest and a weekend of spending some precious time with my three boys.
After a busy week back from Pulse, we set off for a weekend of kite flying, football and fun by the sea. We are so blessed to live with the forest and sea right on our doorstep. With all this beauty around me, it is the perfect way to unwind and make some space in my mind for creativity and forward planning.
I welcomed Monday with a surge of positive energy, oh and a cup of the best, strong coffee going.
My mind is flying high this week! x

The Deer Little Forest Loves Pulse and what a absolutely fab time we had!
Since returning from our first Pulse show, we simply haven’t stopped! New orders to get ready for our new, fantastic and fabulous stockists and so many new leads and delightful people to contact, it really was a wonderfully, successful show for us.
Our stand was met with much excitement, with so many visitors delighting in our unique and colourful designs. It was an utter pleasure to chat to every single person who visited us and we really have appreciated everyones positive feedback and support.
It’s all go now, with orders to send, and a new and exciting brochure to get ready. New designs and projects too! An exhibition of my original work to organise, oh, and, really exciting little project…………… a Deer Little Story book to finish…………………;-)
The Biggest Thank you and Bear Hugs to all of you who visited us at Pulse and a special thank you to everyone who have helped us to create the most perfect, first, Deer Little Forest Trade Show! X
Early start for the Forest folk!
5.30am we left our cosy nests in the trees and hitched a lift on the back of a great, golden hawk, soaring through the clouds and chilly winds, we found our new base for the following 5 days and made ourselves very comfortable with a nice cuppa and a slice of cake at Pulse.
O.k so we actually left 30mins late due to me, squeezed into a very well packed car and off we drove up the M3, stopping once for a large, strong, black coffee. Too early for cake! Surprisingly no traffic, so our morning was a pleasantly stress free one. Would’ve been so much better if we had arrived by hawk though!!!
Home again now and I just couldn’t help but share a tiny post with you before I hit the pillow for some precious zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Our stand CG5 has come along nicely today and I must say, Pulse is looking very fab indeed. I had a quick look around and, well, you’ll be in for a treat if you are popping along!
Make sure to come and say hello to us, the friendly, Deer Little Forest Folk.

The Deer Little Forest is all packed up and ready for our trip up to Earls court. Friday is the first day of set up for ‘Pulse,’ which opens on the 12th, and the Forest folk have been busy lending a paw, wing and claw to get all the preparations finished. Now, with just 4 days to go, we can finally shout “EEEeeeeek, we’re excited!!!”
The Forest creatures don’t often leave their sanctuary of the trees, but Forest bear, Mr Fox and Badger have insisted on coming along with me and they are all very excited to meet you there!
Find us on stand CG5 and Bear and the gang will be there to greet you and show you all of our Deer Little Forest goodies. Bear’s even taking some free forest treats to share with you!

I’ve stumbled upon a Melbourne based, textiles artist, Cat and her Catrabbit creations and have fallen in love today! Her cuter-than-life softy creatures have just the right mix of the whimsical, folksy and slightly sinister, that is right up my street, that I am captivated by their narrative and completely inspired.
She has now collaborated with another incredible, mixed-media artist, Seven Seas and together they have created Ai-Ai Gasa, a collection of soft sculptures, embroidery, painting and installation, now showing at Melbourne’s No Vacancy gallery.
Now there are many reasons I’ve often contemplated packing my wee suitcase and heading off towards the sunny land of Oz and this is just another of those reasons! I just love the arts and crafts being created over there and I’m constantly inspired by many an Australian artist.
