The power of Positive Inking

Work started off well on Monday, Lots of ideas from the previous week and an exciting change to be painting onto wood and creating some new pieces. Then Tuesday and totally frustrated as I have hurt my back and brought everything to a stop. How frustrating to not be able to do the small things, pick up my little boy, take little blue dog for a walk and so much frustration that even sitting at my drawing board in a big no-no!

And so, I’m fighting with myself not to be busy and get on with the huge, never-ending ‘to do’ list and instead take time out for the next couple of days to mend my back. o.k. well, not doing anything is tricky, I’m a born fidget with itchy feet and a mind that constantly wonders……..hmmmmmm?

So I’ve wandered in my search for some inspiration today and come across a website called Positive Inking a site dedicated to inspiring a sense of positivity in all of us artists/ scribblers/ creatives, who sometimes feel frustrated, unsure of our goals and maybe a little washed out. It’s message is simple and wonderful and has made me smile.

So I’m going to use this quiet time to just rest and daydream and who knows, I might even dream up even more fantastic ideas for my sketch book.

In the mean time, here’s a sneak peak of the elephants that wandered through the deer little forest on Monday.

Well done tiger!

My first Etsy Treasury List was posted today and I am so utterly chuffed! How wonderful to have my work curated into a gorgeous list of other beautiful items!

My Etsy shop is now open!

Hooray, My ‘Deer Little Forest’ Etsy shop called ‘Rose in the forest‘ has opened it’s doors at last. It’s so lovely to finally find some time to create a shop on etsy, especially as I absolutely love browsing there myself on a regular basis, admiring the wonderful hand made and vintage gifts, art and items on sale. I do hope you all find some time to browse through my shop and like what you see.

New card designs and prints will be available on there very soon, here’s one of the designs which will soon be added.

New Designs will include Christmas designs, a Spring collection, including ‘New baby’, ‘Mothers day’ and ‘Fathers day’ and also new Birthday cards too.

Have a lovely week and let’s hope the sun starts shining soon.

Flyer design and a facebook page

Here is the flyer design by me for ‘Wonder Hill Summer Festival, Handmade and Vintage Event’ and doesn’t it look great! Even if I do say so myself, hehe! Totally loved designing it for them, as the event is going to be such a wonderful collective of all things creative, handmade and totally awesome!  ‘Deer Little Forest’ is going to be there selling cards, prints and artwork and I can’t wait! It’s so great to meet all the other indie makers and crafters and feel the creative vibe they all bring, such an inspirational and happy feeling!

Also this week I have finally got round to creating a facebook page for ‘deer Little Forest’ and even taking photos of my work for my new Etsy shop.

More info on my ‘Deer Little Forest’ Etsy shop to follow very soon…… excitement! xx

Wonderful Wonderhill market!

This Saturday saw myself and my ‘Deer Little Forest’ shop of goodies, travel up to London to attend the ‘Wonderhill handmade and vintage market’ and what a delightful day I had! A delicious early morning coffee at Monmouth and a quick browse through Borough Market and then round to Wonderhill to set up my little stall and meet the other indie crafters and makers. Such a friendly and inspirational bunch selling wonderful, handmade items, including jewellery by Dubious Design, Illustrations, prints and cards by Isobel Kho and yummy cakes by The Vintage Cake Company.

I was made to feel very welcome by the organiser Kiki, who I’m very happy to say, absolutely LOVES Deer little forest products! I met interesting customers from France, Australia and Canada, who wanted to know more about my work and the little forest I live in outside of London. To my delight, I gained a commission from one customer and also a very exciting commission from Kiki who has asked me to design the next flyer/poster for Wonderhill’s Summer Handmade and Vintage Event on Saturday August 4th. I’m over the moon and now busily sketching away at ideas.

I do hope you’ll pop by and say hello!

Updates and info on this event will be posted here soon, till then, have a wonderful week!
